Your kind of afternoon
Take your curiosity window-shopping.
Mayfair rewards a slower glance. Its polished shopfronts sit among art, tailoring and architectural details that are easy to miss when you are simply cutting through to the Tube.
This compact six-stop walk makes an afternoon of looking closely. You do not need a luxury shopping budget: the pleasure is in the streets, their stories and the details overhead.
Out on the walk
What you'll do on the walk
Take Burlington Arcade at a properly unhurried pace. Let the Royal Academy add a little glamour, then find the quiet squares where Mayfair lowers its voice. Window-shop like you mean it; buy absolutely nothing.
Fox spotting chance
Busy streets, bright lights. Any fox you spot here has earned a mention.
